The dirty little secret about elections is that they are easier to manipulate than anyone would imagine. While there is no silver bullet to guarantee voter fraud can’t happen, one concrete way to impede fraud is making it mandatory to show a photo ID at the polling place. We are presenting a petition requesting that Congress pass a federal law that a photo ID must be presented before voting in any national election. There are only 8 states that require a photo ID and another 18 require some kind of ID, which could include a utility bill that shows an address. This means 24 states have ZERO requirement to prove who you are at the poll. Help us curtail the possibility of voter fraud by signing our petition and encourage everyone you know to come here and sign. The mid-term election was the first step in taking back our country, so let’s take it to a new level by 2012. Thanks (in advance) for your support.

I am a member of a local Tea Party and we are all working hard to get this going as well. I believe I.D should be required….. As far as showing a utility bill anyone can walk in with one, does not mean it’s there own???
We show ID at the banks, retail stores, Stoped by police officers so why not at the polls…That is our individual right to vote and I want my vote to count for my choices not someone elses……..Stand up for your rights now!!!!!!!
While I believe this is a great goal, I am wondering how signing a petition will make a difference. I can’t image that it will be given much credibility without significant either house and/or senate promoters. I guess I’d like to see a complete game plan.
Well, part of the point is to create concrete evidence that there is a ton of grass roots demand for this. We have never seen a time where the political mainstream is paying attention to the voice of the common person. Just look at how the Tea Party is getting recognition for how it influenced the election. That is also why there is a library of documentation to begin educating people as to how pervasive this problem is. Opponents hang on the tired argument, “There is no real proof that voter fraud does anything,” but there is no way for them to validate their assertion. It will be easier to convince someone to take up this cause if the number of people backing it can be quantified and counted, hence the petition.
If we are unable to have confidence in the election process, we have lost our democratic republic. Why is it that a photo ID is required to step on a commercial aircraft or to buy beer, but somehow it is wrong to safe guard our election from fraud with simple photo IDs?
Most forums are Dog and Pony shows, if the Chamber of Commerce or Old Media put them on
Questions that people want answered; never get asked. They are the root of our problems with corrupt and low-grade candidates. Here in Canada it is the CofC that somehow co-opted this task.
At the last Civic election the Chamber of Commerce posed the question about the “reinstatement of the business vote” WOW They just don’t get it.

At the last Federal meet the candidates forum, the citizens were not allowed to attend!!!!

They plant questions and when there is an open mic, they stack the line; so that honest questions seldom reach the floor. I’ve caught them on video doing just that:

Many political forums are put on by this extremely corrupt group. Boo Chamber of Commerce
The Chamber of Commerce should be prohibited from putting on or attending any forums in the future.
